Time Slice Arena strategy
How to clear longer strike paths and earn three stars
Core rule: press and drag to freeze time and draw a blade route, then release to execute it. A single blade can hit several targets, so efficient routes are more important than throwing quickly.
Time Slice Arena controls
On touch screens, press anywhere in the arena and drag through the route you want the blade to follow. On desktop, click and hold while moving the mouse. Releasing executes the strike. Press H for a short hint path, R to restart, and Space or Enter for a quick strike at the nearest target.
Why long combo paths matter
Each target hit in the same strike increases the combo value and score reward. Early levels are generous enough for short routes, but later stages give you fewer spare blades relative to the number of targets. Look for a path that passes through two or three targets before you release.
- Start the route at the launcher on the left and make broad turns rather than tiny zigzags.
- Prioritise clusters that can be cleared with one continuous line.
- If the opening strike hits nothing, restarting is usually better than spending the remaining blades.
How to route around energy shields
Blue and purple shield bars stop a blade immediately. Time remains frozen while you draw, so use that moment to bend the route around the end of a shield instead of trying to cut through it. Leave visible clearance because the blade has a small collision radius.
Moving-target timing
Later levels introduce targets that move only after the strike begins. Their position freezes while you draw the path, then resumes during execution. For short routes you can aim almost directly at them. On a long route, lead the path slightly in the target's movement direction because the blade reaches that point a fraction of a second later.
Use orange blast orbs for chain clears
Orange blast orbs remove nearby targets when struck. They are most valuable when two or more targets sit inside the blast radius. Route through the orb before manually visiting those targets; the explosion can finish the cluster while the same blade continues toward another part of the board.
How the star rating works
Three stars reward clean clears with efficient blade use and no wasted strikes. Two stars allow a small mistake. The easiest way to preserve a three-star run is to plan the longest safe opening route before releasing the first blade.
What changes across the 40 levels?
The early game teaches path drawing with stationary targets. Moving targets arrive next, then shield bars and blast-orb opportunities. Later boards combine all three systems, so the challenge shifts from simple aiming to choosing the order of targets and predicting where moving targets will be when the blade arrives.
What should I do if I am stuck?
Use Hint to reveal a short target-to-target route, then adjust that route around shields. The hint is intentionally a planning aid rather than an automatic solution. If you are out of blades, restart the level and try to combine the first two throws into one longer strike.
